Motorcycle Accidents

Motorcycles are a popular form of transportation, with the number of registered motorcycles in the United States growing each year. With that increase, though, comes a rise in the number of motorcycle accidents as well. In fact, over the last 10 years, the number of motorcyclist fatalities has nearly doubled. In 2006, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported that nearly 3% of all registered vehicle in the United States were motorcycles and accounted for 0.4% of all miles traveled.. In 2005, 4,553 motorcyclists were killed and 87,000 were injured in motorcycle crashes across the country. Injuries can include brain injury, spinal cord injury, loss of limbs, fractures and other severe problems as a result of motorcycle accidents.
